SA SRC Program Manager

Significant travel to/within South Australia is requiredApplication closing date 6pm AEST, 24 July 2022About the role FYA is looking for a Program Manager to support the delivery of the South Australian Student Representative Council (SA SRC) pilot program. This role will work directly with students to bring their projects and campaigns to life. You will build strong relationships across schools, government and community organisations to create opportunities for young people to connect with decision-makers to influence change.The Program Manager will report to the Director of Civic and Cultural Engagement as part of FYA’s Civic and Cultural Engagement team, in collaboration with our SA SRC delivery partners at the SA Commission for Children and Young People (CCYP) and the National Indigenous Youth Education Coalition (NIYEC). Please see attached position description for more details regarding core responsibilities for the role. About youThe ideal candidate for this role will have many, if not all of these experiences and skills:You are passionate about social change demonstrated through professional or voluntary involvement with non-profit causes.You have experience in delivering programs focused on young people You have experience managing events and facilitating training and activities. You’re a confident facilitator, and can manage priorities, budgets, risk and know how to anticipate roadblocks and problem solve.You have excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and can keep on top of communicating multiple things with many different people at once. You understand the importance of nurturing a diverse community. You are committed to creating space for young people of all backgrounds. This includes First Nations young people, young people in regional and rural communities, LGBTQIA+ young people, young people with disabilities, women and non-binary young people, low-income communities and young people of colour.You have experience working on campaigns. You’ve used both online and offline tactics to build power and shift the dial. Experience engaging the media is not required but highly desirableYou are highly organised with excellent time management skills.You know how to build relationships with multiple stakeholders and have the experience to back it up. You enjoy facilitating meetings of young people and working closely with a range of partner organisations and decision-makers.  We do not expect applicants to hold a secondary or tertiary degree - the impact of the programs you’ve worked on is more important to us than whether you have academic qualifications or not. We value both paid and unpaid campaigning experience.
