Come join our team!  The Foundation for Young Australians (FYA)Permanent part-time (0.6) position, starting in April 2023$93,720 pro-rata  excluding superannuationLocated in Melbourne or Sydney (virtual/hybrid work arrangements will be considered)Application closing date 6pm AEDT, 26 March 2023About the role YLab is the co-design and consulting social enterprise of the Foundation for Young Australians and exists to design better systems with young people.  YLab is seeking a dynamic and versatile Marketing and Communications Manager with a strong background in delivering creative projects. This role is an integral part of the YLab team, overseeing our communications strategy and working with diverse creatives to affect systems change, as well as promoting our vision with young people and partners.Your general management skills will be exceptional, with experience in project management and mentoring young creatives. In particular, your writing capabilities will be strong, with a general understanding of visual communications through video and graphic design.Please see attached position description for more details regarding core responsibilities for the role. About youAs a learning opportunity, the ideal candidate for this role will have many, if not all of these experiences and skills:Project ManagementOversee small-to-medium sized internal marketing and communications projects, managing budgets and timelines to ensure the delivery of high-quality workOversee and delegate work to YLab Studio Associates to deliver visual, written and creative outputs in a way that draws on their relevant lived experiences, capabilities and knowledgeCoach and mentor young people to develop their marketing and communications skillsManage the day-to-day workflow of YLab Studio work, developing internal rhythms and systems to increase impact, efficiency and equitable distribution of workIdentify, engage and manage contractors, delivery partners and freelancers to ensure YLab draws on required external expertise and knowledge when requiredSupport the YLab Core Team with their marketing and communications needsImplement Communications StrategyResearch and work collaboratively with the YLab team and young people to develop a communications strategy that is responsive to YLab’s needsExecute and iteratively improve upon the communications strategy for the organisationBrand and Content ManagementCompose and edit content for various channels, including case studies, project documentation, impact reports and thought leadership pieces, with an emphasis on amplifying the voices of young peopleDevelop Google Docs, Slides and Sheets templates for internal and external useEnsure that all marketing and communications materials, project deliverables and client-facing content are accessible and adhere to brand guidelinesEnsure key documents remain concise, fit-for-purpose and future-proof, amending existing documentation when appropriateEnsure the team Google Drive remains organised in a logical mannerOversee updates to brand materials and guidelinesProvide training material and coaching to the YLab Studio Team and Core Team to improve general adherence to brand guidelines when appropriateSocial Media MarketingOversee and delegate work to YLab Studio Associates to create and schedule social media contentProvide insights on current industry trends and platform analytics to inform decision-makingDigital MarketingOrganise the occasional paid advertisement to build brand awareness and drive engagementOversee website updates and revisions, ensuring written and visual content are accessible, optimised and on-brandCreate and track analytics for iterative website improvements and SEO optimisationManage creative accounts, including Webflow, Meta, Vimeo, Adobe CC and CanvaBusiness DevelopmentContribute to the creation and implementation of project proposals for new partnerships in alignment with our vision and valuesIdentify and drive marketing and communications project opportunities with prospective leads and clients through stakeholder nurturement, events, meetings, and ongoing researchPromote YLab Studio offerings within existing client relationshipsAbout usWe’re the largest independent nonprofit in Australia dedicated to backing the capacity, voice, and power of young changemakers.
