Come join our team!The Foundation for Young Australians (FYA)Permanent full-time or part-time (0.8 - 0.9) position, starting in March 2023$122,000 (pro-rata) excluding superannuationLocated in Melbourne (virtual/hybrid work arrangements will be considered)Application closing date 6pm AEST, 18 February 2023About the role You will design and implement cutting-edge programs to support communities of young people to grow their power and win systems change on issues of local, national and global significance – including through partnering with youth-led campaigns to strengthen their movements to maximise their impact, and seeding new youth-led movements.You will supervise a Campaign Manager to support youth-led groups to win campaigns, and facilitate their professional development in line with their personal goals.Key to success will be your highly-respected hands-on experience and demonstrated track record of winning systems change - and deep commitment to backing communities experiencing structural oppression. Please see attached position description for more details regarding core responsibilities for the role. About youAs a learning opportunity, the ideal candidate for this role will have many, if not all of these experiences and skills:Significant experience leading campaigns that have led to systemic change for impacted communities, demonstrating a range of skills from field organising and mobilising to government engagement.Experience coaching, motivating and supporting campaigners from diverse backgrounds to take sustained action on campaigns and maximise their strategic choices.Relationships and experience campaigning with youth-led groups.Lived expertise of economic justice, racial justice, trans & gender diverse liberation or First Nations justice.Commitment to teamwork and collaboration, balancing competing priorities, and prioritising wellbeing.About usWe’re the largest independent nonprofit in Australia dedicated to backing the capacity, voice, and power of young changemakers.
