Come join our team! The Foundation for Young Australians (FYA)Permanent full-time or part-time (0.8-1.0 FTE) positionStart date negotiableSalary $105-115,000 excluding superannuationLocated in Melbourne or Sydney (virtual/hybrid work arrangements will be considered)Application closing date 6pm AEST, 18 February 2022About the roleYou will design and implement cutting-edge programs to support youth-led campaigns to win systems change on issues of local, national and global significance. This will include backing existing youth-led groups to win campaigns and new youth-led groups to start rapid response, short and medium term campaigns - from providing strategic and operational advice on campaign plans to creating group training and knowledge retention strategiesYou will work closely with FYA’s Advocacy & Campaigns and First Nations teams, and youth-led campaigning partners.Key to success will be your ability to work in a team, your demonstrated track record of winning systems change, and your hands-on experience working with communities facing structural oppression.About youExperience leading short (e.g. rapid response) and medium term campaigns that have led to systemic change for impacted communities.Ability to identify tipping point opportunities for strategic action, paired with an understanding of how to back affected communities to take action in a way which builds relationships of mutual trust and respect.Lived expertise and relationships in First Nations justice, racial justice, LGBTIQA+ liberation, disability justice and/or economic justice.Experience coaching, motivating and supporting campaigners from diverse backgrounds to maximise their strategic choices.Hands-on expertise coordinating campaigns, in-the-moment mobilising, media rapid response, and government engagement.Commitment to teamwork and collaboration, balancing competing priorities, and prioritising wellbeing.Our work is guided by a commitment to beating injustice.
